I recollect by sans-soleil

i used to walk on these streets as a child,
dreaming of a future that was just a little childish a grandeur, i was promised by life this used to be my city. people used to be mumbaikars; long before we were forcefully labelled as such. patriotism was a given; long before it was enforced in the movie theatres. religion was open and accepted, the highest value was that of brotherhood; long before we all became hindus and muslims. there was a time when we were Indians there was a time when we were proud to be living in bombay; long before it was even called mumbai.

The prickles made blood peek out
Of the tiny pores on her bare foot But the pain is not for long since they get clot And it remains on her as one more welt

WELCOME TO THE CLUB: PoetsOfMumbai

This is a Club for the poets exclusively from Mumbai. Poets of any genre can be a member.

To be a member, you just need to watch the Club. Further details will be updated through journals.

You can send in your poems as submissions to the Club. Atleast one poem per week will be put up.

Suggestions of all kind are welcome. You can send a note to the Club.

The Club has to grow. So, we need more members. All those who got the Invitation are requested to join the Club. Others can also send a note to join.

Thanks for the invitation but I don't write poetry ( nor read it for that matter) I'm totally into photomanipulation.
But good luck with this project...there are many writers from mumbai on dA! If you need any other help or input I will be happy to help out!
